Donation Policy
West Virginians for Common Sense, LTD, is a nonprofit 527 Political Action Committee (PAC) registered with the West Virginia Secretary of State and maintaining appropriate IRS requirements.
As a 527 PAC organization, donations made to West Virginians for Common Sense are not deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax reporting purposes.
The maximum contribution for individuals, PACs and labor organizations is $5,000 per election cycle.
Corporations are prohibited from donating. Contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited by law.
For contributions more than $250, state law requires that we collect and report address, occupation and contributor employer, in addition to your name.
If you don’t have an employer or you’re retired, you can donate. When donating more than $250, you may write N/A, and if you are self-employed write “self-employed” in Employer and describe your occupation.
State, county, and municipal government, and public employees should please disregard any and all requests related to donating, fundraising, or other financial support.
By contributing, you hereby accept this policy and affirm the following:
- I am not a foreign national who lacks permanent residence in the United States.
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and not those of another.
- This contribution is not made by any person entering into a state contract.
- This contribution is not made on behalf of any corporations or membership organizations.
- I am at least eighteen years old.
